On its official Twitter feed, Samsung Mobile has announced that it is testing software to optimize GPS performance on U.S. versions of the Samsung Galaxy S Android phone. The update should be available in September, according to Samsung.
i tried android hd2, and i beginning to like android.
i interested in getting ATT captivate since it got 1G hummingbird. but i need my GPS! i get confuse with directions easily!
by Sept, i'm sure WP7 is only a month away, i going to get wp7 instead.
If you want Windows Phone 7...
Good luck on that one, prepare for countless issues on that WP7 P.O.S.
with a few tweaks the GPS on my captivate works just fine
Server FQDN Type: AUTO Config
(this is MUCH better than supl.google.com for me)
Operation mode: MS based
That's it for the settings
one more thing
Turn Wifi off before you start an app
that needs gps
I get locks in seconds almost always
Didn't know there was a problem...
Serioually, I have several Garmin products, including an iQue 3600 PDA/GPS, a ForeRunner 201 and a ForeRunner 205 for running. And none of those come close the to performance I'm getting with my Captivate. This phone is amazing!
